35 and childless by choice here! I can relate to this guide and am proud to say that my weekends look a lot like this already (when I have nothing going on). Glad I’m doing something right! 🤭

I love this! That balance is so real. Sometimes if I do *nothing* all weekend, I end up more anxious, not less. Getting a few things done actually helps me relax. You really nailed that balance.

Same here!! If I have a super busy weekend that is all play or all rest, I actually feel worse. I’m glad this resonated!

This is the dream! And actually despite a tonne of kids and now not being in the city, there’s

still some form of this that can work for me. Reading it like this kinda makes you realise you do choose the shape of your weekend and to prioritise that, thank you😘

A Friday night everything shower is so healing after a busy week. Truly a luxury to have no plans on the weekend sometimes

I almost forgot! I am a relatively newcomer to Substack and I love its gentleness. I’ve spent many a quiet evening and Sunday scrolling and saving lovely writings ❤️

I love this. I started a couple of months ago to not make any arrangements for Sundays. If the weather suits, I might spend some time outside trying to tame the wilderness that is my garden. Or just a coffee out there if it’s nice. Or not. Maybe I’ll do a bit of light housework. Maybe not. Sometimes my 16yo and I go the local charity shop. Nice breakfast (always dippy eggs and soldiers), a nice lunch and maybe a roast. Nice and easy, no rush. Makes me feel like I’ve had a good and restful weekend, not resentful I crammed so much in it sped by and now it’s bloody Monday again.

Yes exactly!! Allowing ourselves to actually have time to just linger and enjoy things as we do.

Haha I love this!! I prefer to go out out on Friday, then have Saturday as a total relaxation day at home, then Sunday for fun work (like writing)!
